ACOUSTICS & PLACEMENT GUIDE

Peace of Mind Starts with Proper Placement.

What a device does is decided as much by where you put it as by its specification. This guide helps you read your own space.

Think of Ultrasound Like Light.

Ultrasound is a sound wave, not light — but inside a room it behaves much like it.
  • It casts shadows

Behind a wall, a closed door or a large cabinet, the space stays dark.

  • It reflects

Bare walls, glass and hard floors send the signal back into the room.

  • It is absorbed

Curtains, sofas, rugs and full shelves soak the signal up.

Schematic and representational; it does not indicate guaranteed coverage.
Point the device towards the most open part of the room, and leave nothing soft in front of it.

How Many Zones Is Your Space?

One device covers one zone. Three questions are enough.
  1. From where the device will stand, can you see every spot you want to cover?
  2. Do the doors in between stay open through the day?
  3. Is there a half wall, a large cabinet or a run of full shelving in the middle?

If even one answer is no, your space is more than one zone.

Zones are set by walls and closed doors, not by floor area.
That does not mean you need several devices right away. Start with the zone where you see the most signs.

The Same Room, Two Different Placements.

Do

  • Facing the open part of the room
  • Into a socket that stays powered
  • Near the wall line where you see signs
  • Where it can see the food and waste areas

Don’t

  • Behind a sofa or a cabinet
  • Into a switched socket that goes off with the lights
  • In front of a curtain or a thick rug
  • Inside a cupboard that closes
Two more pairs worth knowing
  • On a flat, stable surface
  • At the height the manual suggests
  • On the highest shelf in the room
  • Alone inside a pantry with the door shut

In each pair, follow the signal: it stops at an obstacle and travels when the way is clear.
Take the device out of where it stands today and place it again by this list. Most of the time that single change is the whole job.

Set It Up, Watch, Adjust.

We do not give you a timetable. We give you a loop you can follow.
  1. Set it up

Choose the zone, keep the space in front clear, and leave it running.
  2. Watch

Look for signs: droppings, gnaw marks, sounds, smell. Check the same places each time.
  3. Adjust

If signs continue, move it, clear what is in front of it, or consider a second zone.

Not a schedule with an end date, but a loop you keep.
How to read the signs
A rise or fall in sightings is not proof of effect on its own. Track the signs regularly and from the same places.

If You Are Not Seeing What You Expected.

Most of the time the problem is not the device but where it sits.
Work through these in order
  • Is there a curtain, sofa, box or full shelf in front of it?
  • Has it ended up behind a cabinet, a counter or an appliance?
  • Is its socket on a switch that goes off at night?
  • Are the signs in a separate room the device cannot see?
  • Is food left out, and is waste emptied regularly?
  • Is the device genuinely running all the time?
If all of these are in order and the signs continue, there may be an entry or harbourage problem the device cannot solve. At that point, talk to a qualified professional.
The device is one layer, not the whole answer

Lasting results come from four things working together:

  • Keeping food sealed
  • Emptying waste regularly
  • Closing the gaps you can reach
  • Following the signs
The ultrasonic device is one of those layers. Without the others it will not do what you expect on its own. For serious or ongoing problems, talk to a qualified professional; if you use a chemical product, follow its label.

Which Model, Which Space?

Not a ranking by power. Choose by the number of zones in your space.

These are our own open-space measurements. Walls and closed doors divide that area, so read them as a ceiling.

We are the manufacturer of these devices: we design them, we build them, and we take the measurements ourselves — which is why we are also the ones telling you where they stop.

If your space is more than one zone, start with the zone where you see the most signs rather than reaching for a larger model.

Common Questions, Plain Answers.

Do ultrasonic devices actually work?

It depends on the conditions, and we would rather say so plainly. Independent findings in this field vary. What we can do is be clear about the conditions the device is designed to work in: an open area, a clear path in front of it, and continuous operation. Without those conditions you will not get the result you expect — and we would rather you knew that before you buy.

Does ultrasound pass through walls?

No. Solid walls and closed doors block most of the signal; treat separate rooms as separate zones.

How large an area is enough?

It depends on the model, and square metres alone are not the whole picture. The same floor area is one zone if it is open, and several zones if walls divide it.

How soon will I see results?

We cannot give an exact time. Set it up, follow the signs regularly, and adjust the placement if you need to.

Can I use it around pets?

Do not use it in rooms with pet rodents such as hamsters, gerbils or rabbits. For other species, follow the guidance in the product manual.

Can I use it alongside traps or chemical products?

Follow the label of whatever product you use. For serious or ongoing problems we recommend talking to a qualified professional.

Can I switch it on and off?

No. It is designed to run continuously; make sure its socket is not on a switch that goes off at night.
